I’m posting this separately so that it is easier to find on my blog! Some people like enchiladas a little different than my recipe so they may be looking for a simple sauce only and here it is!
I made this in my nutribullet but you can certainly make it in a blender or chop and mix everything yourself. This recipe is enough for a 6 person serving only so if you are making more, double up. It makes about 1 cup of sauce.
- 2 8 oz cans of tomato sauce without any extra seasoning flavor, just sauce
- 1/2 of a medium yellow onion
- 3 garlic cloves
- 1 tsp of onion powder
- 1 tsp of chili powder
- 1 tsp of cumin
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- 1 tsp dried oregano
- 1 tsp of salt
- 1 tsp of pepper
- 1/2 cup cilantro (optional but highly recommended)
It’s that easy!
If you are making it by hand, then just mince your garlic and finely chop your onion and just mix it in with the sauce. It’ll work just as good so don’t be discouraged if you don’t have a blender!!!
